Bukerel, Andrew (d. 1237)
Oxford Dictionary of National Biography
Bukerel, Andrew (d. 1237), merchant and mayor of London, was born into a prominent London family. In London, only three men have served longer consecutive terms as mayor than his six-year spell in that office. His family name lives on in the name of the small street Bucklersbury, running between Queen Victoria Street and Walbrook in the heart of the City of London, where the twelfth-century family estate was located.
